Egypt's table grape season opens with firm prices and strong EU/UK demand as tighter rival supply lifts early-season buying.
Egypt’s table grape season has opened with steady orders and firm prices, as tighter Southern Hemisphere supply pushes European buyers to secure early-season volume.
Egypt’s 2026 table grape campaign has started on a firm footing. Exporters report steady demand and satisfactory pricing in the opening weeks, with one export manager describing the start as "very promising."
Reduced availability from some competing origins has lifted early-season purchasing in Europe, where the EU and UK remain the anchor markets for Egyptian grapes. Crimson, alongside early white varieties such as Prime and Early Sweet, leads the export mix as the season builds toward its summer peak.
What it means for buyers: The June window is where Egypt competes with little Southern Hemisphere overlap — a genuine availability and pricing advantage. Buyers planning early-season grape programmes should confirm allocation now, before peak European supply arrives.
