Nile Prime and Peivana oranges to ship to East Asia, the Gulf and Europe from the first day of the export window

CAIRO, 25 October 2026 — Egypt enters the new citrus season from a strong base. According to official Egyptian export data, the country shipped about 2.44 million tonnes of citrus in the 2025/26 season, worth around US$1.34 billion, including about 1.83 million tonnes of oranges (US$938 million). The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service put Egypt’s 2025/26 orange crop at around 4 million tonnes on about 170,000 hectares, and describes Egypt as the world’s leading orange exporter.

Against this background, Egyptian exporter PEI Trade (Pharaohs of Egypt for International Trade) is targeting growth of more than 50% in orange exports under its Nile Prime and Peivana brands in the 2026/27 season, following a successful 2025/26 campaign.

The company already has importer agreements in place for shipments from the first day the export window opens. PEI Trade will supply the full range of sizes, with East Asia, the Gulf and Europe as its target markets this season.

“Last season gave us a strong base with our importers,” said Mostafa Sabry, CEO of PEI Trade. “We are seeing growing demand from East Asia and the Gulf, and we see this season as the right moment to expand. For 2026/27 we are aiming to grow Nile Prime and Peivana exports by more than 50%. Our agreements already cover a significant number of containers, and we are ready to load from the first day exports open.”

The opening of the 2026/27 export season is expected in mid-December, subject to the official announcement by the Agricultural Export Council and the Agricultural Quarantine. Navel oranges are exported from mid-December until 1 March. Valencia oranges are shipped fresh from January to May, followed by supply from cold storage.
