Egypt's orange exports hit 1.9M tons as Valencia carries summer programmes to Russia, the GCC and Canada; processing capacity grows.

Egypt’s orange exports rose to about 1.9 million tons in 2025/26, with Valencia carrying late-season summer programmes into Russia, the GCC and Canada.

Egypt’s orange exports reached roughly 1.9 million tons in the 2025/26 season. Navel ran from mid-December through April, while Valencia continued into summer markets including Russia, the GCC and Canada. Loading peaked between February and April through Alexandria, Damietta and Port Said, with fruit drawn from GLOBALG.A.P-certified orchards and HACCP / ISO 22000 packing.

Industry reports also point to several new orange-processing factories coming online in 2026, expanding Egypt’s juice and concentrate capacity and firming up demand for juicing-grade Valencia.

What it means for buyers: Valencia’s summer window keeps Egyptian citrus relevant year-round, reinforcing the "two-wave" Navel-then-Valencia model that lets importers run nine months of supply from a single origin. (See: Egyptian Valencia Oranges export guide.)
