This guide is for onion importers and wholesalers in Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and neighbouring markets. It covers the two types PEI Trade ships, red and golden (yellow) onions: sizes, mesh-bag packing, when to order each type, container and temperature settings, the ports we deliver to, the document set and the trade terms. HS code 0703.10.
An importer in Abidjan or Dakar can run both colours from Egypt through most of the year. The new crop ships from February for golden onions and from March for red, through June, and storage stock covers the months that follow.
